The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

Everyone who practices sin ¹  also practices lawlessness; ²  indeed, ³  sin is lawlessness.

All unrighteousness ¹  is sin, but there is sin not resulting in death. ² 

Wash away my wrongdoing! ¹  Cleanse me of my sin! ² 

concerning sin, because ¹  they do not believe in me; ² 

(For someone who has died has been freed from sin.) ¹ 

Jesus answered them, “I tell you the solemn truth, ¹  everyone who practices ²  sin is a slave ³  of sin.

If you sin against your brothers or sisters ¹  in this way and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.

Then when desire conceives, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is full grown, it gives birth to death.

the assembly must present a young bull for a sin offering when the sin they have committed ¹  becomes known. They must bring it before the Meeting Tent,

or his sin that he committed ¹  is made known to him, ²  he must bring a flawless female goat ³  as his offering for the sin ⁴  that he committed.

He must lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter ¹  the sin offering in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered.

He must lay his hand on the head of the sin offering and slaughter it for a sin offering in the place where the burnt offering is slaughtered.

Then he brought near the sin offering bull ¹  and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the sin offering bull,

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. ¹  But they no longer have any excuse for their sin.

So then, just as sin entered the world through one man and death through sin, and so death spread to all people ¹  because ²  all sinned –

for before the law was given, ¹  sin was in the world, but there is no accounting for sin ²  when there is no law.

But sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of wrong desires. ¹  For apart from the law, sin is dead.

God ¹  made the one who did not know sin ²  to be sin for us, so that in him ³  we would become the righteousness of God.

So Aaron approached the altar and slaughtered the sin offering calf which was for himself.
