Then ¹  he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for people, ²  not people for the Sabbath.

“Remember ¹  the Sabbath ²  day to set it apart as holy. ³ 

For the Son of Man is lord ¹  of the Sabbath.”

Consequently a Sabbath rest remains for the people of God.

The Israelites must keep the Sabbath by observing the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.

You must not kindle a fire ¹  in any of your homes ²  on the Sabbath day.” ³ 

Be careful to observe ¹  the Sabbath day just as the Lord your God has commanded you.

Pray ¹  that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath.

For this reason the Son of Man is lord ¹  even of the Sabbath.”

Then ¹  he said to them, “The Son of Man is lord ²  of the Sabbath.”

Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues ¹  on the Sabbath,

It was the day of preparation ¹  and the Sabbath was beginning. ² 

Now because Jesus was doing these things ¹  on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders ²  began persecuting ³  him.

He addressed ¹  both Jews and Greeks in the synagogue ²  every Sabbath, attempting to persuade ³  them.

Six days ¹  work may be done, ²  but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, ³  holy to the Lord; anyone who does work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death.

It is a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must humble yourselves on the ninth day of the month in the evening, from evening until evening you must observe your Sabbath.” ¹ 

but in the seventh year the land must have a Sabbath of complete rest ¹  – a Sabbath to the Lord. You must not sow your field or ²  prune your vineyard.

Do not carry any loads out of your houses or do any work on the Sabbath day. ¹  But observe the Sabbath day as a day set apart to the Lord, ²  as I commanded your ancestors. ³ 

But if a male child ¹  is circumcised ²  on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses is not broken, ³  why are you angry with me because I made a man completely well ⁴  on the Sabbath?

Six days you will gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.”
