The ¹  apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” ² 

I will increase their ¹  disasters, I will use up my arrows on them.

“Why do the wicked go on living, ¹  grow old, ²  even increase in power?

If his children increase – it is for the sword! ¹  His offspring never have enough to eat. ² 

May he increase your numbers, yours and your children’s! ¹ 

When the wicked gain control, ¹  people ²  hide themselves, ³  but when they perish, ⁴  the righteous increase.

When the wicked increase, ¹  transgression increases, but the righteous will see ²  their downfall.

and because lawlessness will increase so much, the love of many will grow cold.

What shall we say then? Are we to remain in sin so that grace may increase?

But as for you, ¹  be fruitful and multiply; increase abundantly on the earth and multiply on it.”

You bring new witnesses ¹  against me, and increase your anger against me; relief troops ²  come against me.

Now the law came in ¹  so that the transgression ²  may increase, but where sin increased, grace multiplied all the more,

“‘If you walk in hostility against me ¹  and are not willing to obey me, I will increase your affliction ²  seven times according to your sins.

Now look, you are standing in your fathers’ place, a brood of sinners, to increase still further the fierce wrath of the Lord against the Israelites.

when your cattle and flocks increase, when you have plenty of silver and gold, and when you have abundance of everything,

then the Lord will increase your punishments and those of your descendants – great and long-lasting afflictions and severe, enduring illnesses.

Exercise appropriate caution so that there is no negligence in this matter. Why should danger increase to the point that kings sustain damage?”

The one who oppresses the poor to increase his own gain and the one who gives to the rich ¹  – both end up only in poverty.

When someone’s ¹  prosperity ²  increases, those who consume it also increase; so what does its owner ³  gain, except that he gets to see it with his eyes? ⁴ 

“But you, Daniel, close up these words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many will dash about, ¹  and knowledge will increase.”
