They ¹  are dark ²  because of ice; snow is piled ³  up over them. ⁴ 

The breath of God produces ice, and the breadth of the waters freeze solid.

From whose womb does the ice emerge, and the frost from the sky, ¹  who gives birth to it,

Over the heads of the living beings was something like a platform, ¹  glittering awesomely like ice, ²  stretched out over their heads.
