‘I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. ¹  I wish you were either cold or hot!

When the Israelites returned from their hot pursuit of the Philistines, they looted their camp.

When they are scorched, ¹  they dry up, when it is hot, they vanish ²  from their place.

My skin has turned dark on me; ¹  my body ²  is hot with fever. ³ 

You, whose garments are hot when the earth is still because of the south wind,

Can ¹  a man walk on hot coals without scorching his feet?

Our skin is hot as an oven due to a fever from hunger. ¹ 

Aaron said, “Do not let your anger burn hot, my lord; ¹  you know these people, that they tend to evil. ² 

Here’s how! ¹  With the sharp arrows of warriors, with arrowheads forged over the hot coals. ² 

So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I am going ¹  to vomit ²  you out of my mouth!

These were the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah (who discovered the hot springs ¹  in the wilderness as he pastured the donkeys of his father Zibeon).

So they gathered it each morning, ¹  each person according to what he could eat, and when the sun got hot, it would melt. ²

Set the empty pot on the coals, ¹  until it becomes hot and its copper glows, until its uncleanness melts within it and its rot ²  is consumed.

He looked and right there by his head was a cake baking on hot coals and a jug of water. He ate and drank and then slept some more. ¹ 

But since the king’s command was so urgent, and the furnace was so excessively hot, the men who escorted ¹  Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were killed ²  by the leaping flames. ³ 

When the sun began to shine, God sent ¹  a hot ²  east wind. So the sun beat down ³  on Jonah’s head, and he grew faint. So he despaired of life, ⁴  and said, “I would rather die than live!” ⁵
