a land of wheat, barley, vines, fig trees, and pomegranates, of olive trees and honey,

“So the trees said to the fig tree, ‘You come and be our king!’ ¹ 

He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore-fig trees with driving rain.

Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered.”

¹  Isaiah ordered, “Let them take a fig cake and apply it to the ulcerated sore and he will get well.”
