This is the law ¹  of the land animals, the birds, all the living creatures that move in the water, and all the creatures ²  that swarm on the land,

to distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between the living creatures that may be eaten and the living creatures that must not be eaten.’”

Pairs ¹  of all creatures ²  that have the breath of life came into the ark to Noah.

These you may eat from among water creatures: anything with fins and scales you may eat,

All of your creatures ¹  wait for you to provide them with food on a regular basis. ² 

Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea creatures and all you ocean depths,

ants are creatures with little strength, but they prepare ¹  their food in the summer;

rock badgers ¹  are creatures with little power, but they make their homes in the crags;

“‘These you can eat from all creatures that are in the water: Any creatures in the water that have both fins and scales, ¹  whether in the seas or in the streams, ²  you may eat.

God saw the earth, and indeed ¹  it was ruined, ²  for all living creatures ³  on the earth were sinful. ⁴ 

Over here is the deep, wide sea, ¹  which teems with innumerable swimming creatures, ²  living things both small and large.

And the four living creatures were saying “Amen,” and the elders threw themselves to the ground ¹  and worshiped.

and a third of the creatures ¹  living in the sea died, and a third of the ships were completely destroyed. ² 

God said, “Let the water swarm with swarms ¹  of living creatures and let birds fly ²  above the earth across the expanse of the sky.”

God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: cattle, creeping things, and wild animals, each according to its kind.” ¹  It was so.

And all living things ¹  that moved on the earth died, including the birds, domestic animals, wild animals, all the creatures that swarm over the earth, and all humankind.

These were the living creatures ¹  which I saw at the Kebar River underneath the God of Israel; I knew that they were cherubim.

And whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, ¹  and thanks to the one who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,

I looked on when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a thunderous voice, ¹  “Come!” ² 

Then ¹  one of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the wrath ²  of God who lives forever and ever,
