But how can I alone bear up under the burden of your hardship and strife?

David said to him, “If you leave ¹  with me you will be a burden to me.

I have observed the burden that God has given to people ¹  to keep them occupied.

Throw your burden ¹  upon the Lord, and he will sustain you. ²  He will never allow the godly to be upended. ³ 

The Lord deserves praise! ¹  Day after day ²  he carries our burden, the God who delivers us. (Selah)

It said: ¹  “I removed the burden from his shoulder; his hands were released from holding the basket. ² 

This is what I also observed about wisdom on earth, ¹  and it is a great burden ²  to me:

I hate your new moon festivals and assemblies; they are a burden that I am tired of carrying.

When he sees ¹  a good resting place, and the pleasant land, he will bend his shoulder to the burden and become a slave laborer. ²

But the king said to Absalom, “No, my son. We shouldn’t all go. We shouldn’t burden you in that way.” Though Absalom ¹  pressed ²  him, the king ³  was not willing to go. Instead, David ⁴  blessed him.

If ¹  I have sinned – what have I done to you, ²  O watcher of men? ³  Why have you set me as your target? ⁴  Have I become a burden to you? ⁵ 

At that time ¹  the Lord will remove their burden from your shoulders, ²  and their yoke from your neck; the yoke will be taken off because your neck will be too large. ³ 

I will break Assyria ¹  in my land, I will trample them ²  underfoot on my hills. Their yoke will be removed from my people, the burden will be lifted from their shoulders. ³ 

You did not bring me lambs for your burnt offerings; you did not honor me with your sacrifices. I did not burden you with offerings; I did not make you weary by demanding ¹  incense.
