Do not turn to idols, ¹  and you must not make for yourselves gods of cast metal. I am the Lord your God.

They made an image of a calf at Horeb, and worshiped a metal idol.

You must not make yourselves molten gods.

will you, with him, spread out ¹  the clouds, solid as a mirror of molten metal?

As I watched, I noticed ¹  a windstorm ²  coming from the north – an enormous cloud, with lightning flashing, ³  such that bright light ⁴  rimmed it and came from ⁵  it like glowing amber ⁶  from the middle of a fire.
