Ephraim has attached himself to idols; Do not go near him!

He joined ¹  five of the curtains to one another, and the other ²  five curtains he joined to one another.

Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

He joined five curtains by themselves and six curtains by themselves.

They lock tightly together, one to the next; ¹  they cling together and cannot be separated.

It is to have two shoulder pieces attached to two of its corners, so it can be joined together. ¹ 

Even Assyria has allied with them, lending its strength to the descendants of Lot. ¹  (Selah)

So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

The Jews also joined in the verbal attack, ¹  claiming ²  that these things were true.

So we rebuilt the wall, and the entire wall was joined together up to half its height. ¹  The people were enthusiastic in their work. ² 

In him ¹  the whole building, ²  being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

The folds ¹  of its flesh are tightly joined; they are firm on it, immovable. ²

When Israel joined themselves to Baal-peor, ¹  the anger of the Lord flared up against Israel.

Five curtains are to be joined, ¹  one to another, ²  and the other ³  five curtains are to be joined, one to another.

So Moses said to the judges of Israel, “Each of you must execute those of his men ¹  who were joined to Baal-peor.”

Some of them were persuaded ¹  and joined Paul and Silas, along with a large group ²  of God-fearing Greeks ³  and quite a few ⁴  prominent women.

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will become ¹  one flesh. ²
