After an interval of about three hours, ¹  his wife came in, but she did not know ²  what had happened.

to the space above the entrance, to the inner room, and on the outside, and on all the walls in the inner room and outside, by measurement. ¹ 

Then after fourteen years I went up to Jerusalem ¹  again with Barnabas, taking Titus along too.

Hezekiah answered, “It is easy for the shadow to lengthen ten steps, but not for it ¹  to go back ten steps.”

Then after this, he said to his disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.” ¹ 

After several days had passed, King Agrippa ¹  and Bernice arrived at Caesarea ²  to pay their respects ³  to Festus. ⁴ 

so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company.

Isaiah replied, “This is your sign from the Lord confirming that the Lord will do what he has said. Do you want the shadow to move ahead ten steps or to go back ten steps?” ¹ 

His mother used to make him a small robe and bring it up to him at regular intervals when she would go up with her husband to make the annual sacrifice.

Isaiah the prophet called out to the Lord, and the Lord ¹  made the shadow go back ten steps on the stairs of Ahaz. ² 

For the king of the north will again muster an army, one larger than before. At the end of some years he will advance with a huge army and enormous supplies.

And after about an hour still another insisted, ¹  “Certainly this man was with him, because he too is a Galilean.” ² 

What will you say ¹  when the Lord ²  appoints as rulers over you those allies that you, yourself, had actually prepared as such? ³  Then anguish and agony will grip you like that of a woman giving birth to a baby. ⁴ 

Even some of the wise will stumble, resulting in their refinement, purification, and cleansing until the time of the end, for it is still for the appointed time.
