But they said to her, “You’ve lost your mind!” ¹  But she kept insisting that it was Peter, ²  and they kept saying, ³  “It is his angel!” ⁴ 

Command and teach these things.

But they were insistent, ¹  demanding with loud shouts that he be crucified. And their shouts prevailed.

And after about an hour still another insisted, ¹  “Certainly this man was with him, because he too is a Galilean.” ² 

In the wilderness they had an insatiable craving ¹  for meat; ²  they challenged God ³  in the desert.

But he urged ¹  them persistently, so they turned aside with him and entered his house. He prepared a feast for them, including bread baked without yeast, and they ate.

But Peter ¹  insisted emphatically, ²  “Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you.” And all of them said the same thing.

So I say this, and insist ¹  in the Lord, that you no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility ²  of their thinking. ³ 

This saying ¹  is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on such truths, ²  so that those who have placed their faith in God may be intent on engaging in good works. These things are good and beneficial for all people.

“No,” he insisted, “but you have come to see if our land is vulnerable.” ¹ 

King David replied to Ornan, “No, I insist on buying it for top price. ¹  I will not offer to the Lord what belongs to you or offer a burnt sacrifice ²  that cost me nothing. ³ 

But they persisted ¹  in saying, “He incites ²  the people by teaching throughout all Judea. It started in Galilee and ended up here!” ³ 

but Paul insisted ¹  that they should not take along this one who had left them in Pamphylia ²  and had not accompanied them in the work.

It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful.

Let no one who delights in humility and the worship of angels pass judgment on you. That person goes on at great lengths ¹  about what he has supposedly seen, but he is puffed up with empty notions by his fleshly mind. ² 

Cover ¹  their faces with shame, so they might seek ²  you, ³  O Lord.

It is an honor for a person ¹  to cease ²  from strife, but every fool quarrels. ³ 

For none of us lives for himself and none dies for himself.

But the king’s edict stood, despite the objections of ¹  Joab and the leaders of the army. So Joab and the leaders of the army left the king’s presence in order to muster the Israelite army.

Immediately Jesus ¹  made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dispersed the crowd.
