In the house ¹  of the righteous is abundant wealth, ²  but the income of the wicked brings trouble. ³ 

Better to have a little with righteousness ¹  than to have abundant income without justice. ² 

I fast twice ¹  a week; I give a tenth ²  of everything I get.’

The reward ¹  which the righteous receive ²  is life; the recompense ³  which the wicked receive ⁴  is judgment. ⁵ 

The one who loves money ¹  will never be satisfied with money, ²  he who loves wealth ³  will never be satisfied ⁴  with his ⁵  income. This also is futile.

He must eat the same share they do, despite any profits he may gain from the sale of his family’s inheritance. ¹ 

Honor ¹  the Lord from your wealth and from the first fruits of all your crops; ² 

besides what he collected from the merchants, ¹  traders, Arabian kings, and governors of the land.

For her ¹  benefit ²  is more profitable ³  than silver, and her ⁴  gain ⁵  is better ⁶  than gold.

Where there are no oxen, the feeding trough is clean, but an abundant harvest is produced by strong oxen. ¹ 

How much better it is to acquire ¹  wisdom than gold; to acquire understanding is more desirable ²  than silver.

She considers ¹  a field and buys it; from her own income ²  she plants a vineyard.

On the first day of the week, each of you should set aside some income ¹  and save ²  it to the extent that God has blessed you, ³  so that a collection will not have to be made ⁴  when I come.

He ordered ¹  the people living in Jerusalem ²  to contribute the portion prescribed for the priests and Levites so they might be obedient ³  to the law of the Lord.

When you finish tithing all ¹  your income in the third year (the year of tithing), you must give it to the Levites, the resident foreigners, the orphans, and the widows ²  so that they may eat to their satisfaction in your villages. ³ 

“But woe to you Pharisees! ¹  You give a tenth ²  of your mint, ³  rue, ⁴  and every herb, yet you neglect justice ⁵  and love for God! But you should have done these things without neglecting the others. ⁶ 

But Zacchaeus stopped and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, half of my possessions I now give ¹  to the poor, and if ²  I have cheated anyone of anything, I am paying back four times as much!”

The king asked the woman about it, and she gave him the details. ¹  The king assigned a eunuch to take care of her request and ordered him, ²  “Give her back everything she owns, as well as the amount of crops her field produced from the day she left the land until now.”
