They worshiped ¹  their idols, which became a snare to them. ² 

Am I saying that idols or food sacrificed to them amount to anything?

The worthless idols will be completely eliminated. ¹ 

Their ¹  idols are made of silver and gold – they are man-made. ² 

The nations’ idols are made of silver and gold, they are man-made. ¹ 

Ephraim has attached himself to idols; Do not go near him!

With regard then to eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that “an idol in this world is nothing,” and that “there is no God but one.” ¹ 

As I have done to Samaria and its idols, so I will do to Jerusalem and its idols.” ¹ 

For if someone weak sees you who possess knowledge dining in an idol’s temple, will not his conscience be “strengthened” ¹  to eat food offered to idols?

For all the gods of the nations are worthless, ¹  but the Lord made the heavens. ² 

I hate those who serve worthless idols, ¹  but I trust in the Lord.

Little children, guard yourselves from idols. ¹ 

At that time ¹  men will throw their silver and gold idols, which they made for themselves to worship, ²  into the caves where rodents and bats live, ³ 

At ¹  that time ²  they made an idol in the form of a calf, ³  brought ⁴  a sacrifice to the idol, and began rejoicing ⁵  in the works of their hands. ⁶ 

For at that time ¹  everyone will get rid of ²  the silver and gold idols your hands sinfully made. ³ 

Those who worship ¹  worthless idols ²  forfeit the mercy that could be theirs. ³ 

Do not turn to idols, ¹  and you must not make for yourselves gods of cast metal. I am the Lord your God.

They will all be ashamed and embarrassed; those who fashion idols will all be humiliated. ¹ 

I will place the corpses of the people of Israel in front of their idols, ¹  and I will scatter your bones around your altars.
