Naphtali is a free running doe, ¹  he speaks delightful words. ² 

Do you intend to criticize mere words, and treat ¹  the words of a despairing man as wind?

To ¹  learn ²  wisdom ³  and moral instruction, ⁴  and to discern ⁵  wise counsel. ⁶ 

My child, ²  keep my words and treasure up my commands in your own keeping. ³ 

Listen, O heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

How painful ¹  are honest words! But ²  what does your reproof ³  prove? ⁴ 

“How long will you speak these things, ¹  seeing ²  that the words of your mouth are like a great ³  wind? ⁴ 

If I say, ¹  ‘I will ²  forget my complaint, I will change my expression ³  and be cheerful,’ ⁴ 

I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my allotted portion. ¹ 

My words come from the uprightness of my heart, ¹  and my lips will utter knowledge sincerely. ²

My child, ²  if ³  you receive my words, and store up ⁴  my commands within you,

Listen, my child, ¹  and accept my words, so that ²  the years of your life will be many. ³ 

All the words of my mouth are righteous; ¹  there is nothing in them twisted ²  or crooked.

The Lord abhors ¹  the plans ²  of the wicked, ³  but pleasant words ⁴  are pure. ⁵ 

Pleasant words are like ¹  a honeycomb, ²  sweet to the soul and healing ³  to the bones.

to show you true and reliable words, ¹  so that you may give accurate answers ²  to those who sent you?

So tell them ¹  you are my sister ²  so that it may go well ³  for me because of you and my life will be spared ⁴  on account of you.”
