any kind of land animal, any bird that flies in the sky,

anything that crawls ¹  on the ground, or any fish in the deep waters of the earth. ² 

According to all that I am showing you ¹  – the pattern of the tabernacle ²  and the pattern of all its furnishings – you ³  must make it exactly so. ⁴ 

(The cherubim appeared to have the form ¹  of human hands under their wings.)

I say this ¹  so you will not corrupt yourselves by making an image in the form of any kind of figure. This includes the likeness of a human male or female,

Then ¹  our sons will be like plants, that quickly grow to full size. ²  Our daughters will be like corner pillars, ³  carved like those in a palace. ⁴
