Remove me from the path of deceit! ¹  Graciously give me ²  your law!

Please stop wounding me! ¹  You have almost beaten me to death! ² 

Remove perverse speech ¹  from your mouth; ²  keep devious talk far from your lips. ³ 

Do not turn ¹  to the right or to the left; turn yourself ²  away from evil. ³ 

Take away from me your ¹  noisy songs; I don’t want to hear the music of your stringed instruments. ² 

So do this: Dismiss the kings from their command, and replace them with military commanders.

Now I will inform you what I am about to do to my vineyard: I will remove its hedge and turn it into pasture, ¹  I will break its wall and allow animals to graze there. ² 

Let me walk among ¹  all your flocks today and remove from them every speckled or spotted sheep, every dark-colored lamb, ²  and the spotted or speckled goats. ³  These animals will be my wages. ⁴ 

So in this way Jacob’s sin will be forgiven, ¹  and this is how they will show they are finished sinning: ²  They will make all the stones of the altars ³  like crushed limestone, and the Asherah poles and the incense altars will no longer stand. ⁴
