Jehoshaphat son of Paruah was in charge of Issachar.

(22:45) Jehoshaphat was also at peace with the king of Israel.

When the chariot commanders saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “He must be the king of Israel.” So they turned and attacked him, but Jehoshaphat cried out.

Then Ahaziah son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, “Let my sailors join yours in the fleet,” ¹  but Jehoshaphat refused.

His brothers, Jehoshaphat’s sons, were Azariah, Jechiel, Zechariah, Azariahu, Michael, and Shephatiah. All of these were sons of King Jehoshaphat of Israel. ¹ 

His son Jehoshaphat replaced him as king and solidified his rule over Israel. ¹ 

When King Jehoshaphat of Judah returned home safely to Jerusalem, ¹ 

Jehoshaphat’s kingdom enjoyed peace; his God made him secure on every side. ¹ 

Elihoreph and Ahijah, the sons of Shisha, wrote down what happened. ¹  Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud was in charge of the records.

In the third year King Jehoshaphat of Judah came down to visit ¹  the king of Israel.

Then Jehoshaphat added, ¹  “First seek an oracle from the Lord.” ² 

But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there not a prophet of the Lord still here, that we may ask him?”

Solomon’s son was Rehoboam, followed by Abijah his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,

Jehoshaphat’s power kept increasing. He built fortresses and storage cities throughout Judah.

Then Jehoshaphat added, ¹  “First seek an oracle from the Lord.” ² 

But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there not a prophet of the Lord still here, that we may ask him?”

Later the Moabites and Ammonites, along with some of the Meunites, ¹  attacked Jehoshaphat.

Jehoshaphat was afraid, so he decided to seek the Lord’s advice. ¹  He decreed that all Judah should observe a fast.

Jehoshaphat stood before the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem ¹  at the Lord’s temple, in front of the new courtyard.

Later King Jehoshaphat of Judah made an alliance with King Ahaziah of Israel, who ¹  did evil.
