Iddo, Ginnethon, ¹  Abijah,

¹ At that time Jeroboam’s son Abijah became sick.

Meshullam, Abijah, Mijamin,

If her father refuses to give her to him, he must pay money for the bride price of virgins.

If a daughter of a priest profanes herself by engaging in prostitution, she is profaning her father. She must be burned to death. ¹ 

“If a young ¹  woman who is still living ²  in her father’s house makes a vow to the Lord or places herself under an obligation,

The name of his firstborn son was Joel, and the name of his second son was Abijah. They were judges in Beer Sheba.

Solomon’s son was Rehoboam, followed by Abijah his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,

Rehoboam appointed Abijah son of Maacah as the leader over his brothers, for he intended to name him his successor. ¹ 

Then Rehoboam passed away ¹  and was buried in the City of David. ²  His son Abijah replaced him as king.

In the eighteenth year of the reign of King Jeroboam, Abijah became king over Judah.

The rest of the events of Abijah’s reign, including his deeds and sayings, ¹  are recorded in the writings of the prophet Iddo.

but if a priest’s daughter is a widow or divorced, and she has no children so that she returns to live in ¹  her father’s house as in her youth, ²  she may eat from her father’s food, but no lay person may eat it.

and her father hears of her vow or the obligation to which she has pledged herself, and her father remains silent about her, ¹  then all her vows will stand, ²  and every obligation to which she has pledged herself will stand.

But if her father overrules her when he hears ¹  about it, then none ²  of her vows or her obligations which she has pledged for herself will stand. And the Lord will release ³  her from it, because her father overruled her.

the men of her city must bring the young woman to the door of her father’s house and stone her to death, for she has done a disgraceful thing ¹  in Israel by behaving like a prostitute while living in her father’s house. In this way you will purge ²  evil from among you.

So that night they made their father drunk with wine, ¹  and the older daughter ²  came and had sexual relations with her father. ³  But he was not aware that she had sexual relations with him and then got up. ⁴ 

When Jacob explained ¹  to Rachel that he was a relative of her father ²  and the son of Rebekah, she ran and told her father.

Then Shechem said to Dinah’s ¹  father and brothers, “Let me find favor in your sight, and whatever you require of me ²  I’ll give. ³ 

These are the statutes that the Lord commanded Moses, relating to ¹  a man and his wife, and a father and his young daughter who is still living in her father’s house.
