then he looked at wisdom ¹  and assessed its value; ²  he established ³  it and examined it closely. ⁴ 

See my pain and suffering! Forgive all my sins! ¹ 

The sea looked and fled; ¹  the Jordan River ²  turned back. ³ 

א (Alef) ¹  I am the man ²  who has experienced ³  affliction from the rod ⁴  of his wrath.

to defraud a person in a lawsuit – the Lord ¹  does not approve ²  of such things!

Later the Lord asked me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” I answered, “I see a branch of an almond tree.”

The Lord again asked me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a pot of boiling water; it is tipped toward us from the north.” ¹ 

Someone asked me, “What do you see?” I replied, “I see a flying scroll thirty feet long and fifteen feet wide.” ¹ 

Take note – I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: ¹ 

Look at every proud man and abase him; crush the wicked on the spot! ¹ 

Watch my enemies, for they outnumber me; they hate me and want to harm me. ¹ 

The Lord watches ¹  from heaven; he sees all people. ² 

The Lord laughs in disgust ¹  at them, for he knows that their day is coming. ² 

Their slander will bring about their demise. ¹  All who see them will shudder, ² 

O God, take notice of our shield! ¹  Show concern for your chosen king! ² 

ר (Resh) See my pain and rescue me! For I do not forget your law.

See how I love your precepts! O Lord, revive me with your loyal love!

Go to the ant, you sluggard; ¹  observe its ways and be wise!

The ear that hears and the eye that sees ¹  – the Lord has made them both. ² 

A shrewd person ¹  sees danger ²  and hides himself, but the naive keep right on going ³  and suffer for it. ⁴
