O land of Judah, land of Judah, land of Judah! ¹  Listen to what the Lord has to say!

you kings of the earth and all you nations, you princes and all you leaders ¹  on the earth,

until I come and take you to a land just like your own – a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards.

a land of wheat, barley, vines, fig trees, and pomegranates, of olive trees and honey,

The earth is broken in pieces, the earth is ripped to shreds, the earth shakes violently. ¹ 

You stretched out your right hand, the earth swallowed them. ¹ 

In all your landed property ¹  you must provide for the right of redemption of the land. ² 

You will perish among the nations; the land of your enemies will consume you.

The army of Israel ¹  and Absalom camped in the land of Gilead.

until I come and take you to a land just like your own – a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive trees and honey. Then you will live and not die. Don’t listen to Hezekiah, for he is misleading you when he says, “The Lord will rescue us.”

he who shakes the earth out of its place ¹  so that its pillars tremble; ² 

who teaches us ¹  more than ²  the wild animals of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the sky?’

You, whose garments are hot when the earth is still because of the south wind,

So now, you kings, do what is wise; ¹  you rulers of the earth, submit to correction! ² 

They experience his favor; ¹  their descendants ²  inherit the land. ³ 

Surely ¹  those favored by the Lord ²  will possess the land, but those rejected ³  by him will be wiped out. ⁴ 

The godly will possess the land and will dwell in it permanently.

and a fruitful land into a barren place, ¹  because of the sin of its inhabitants.

You demonstrate your faithfulness to all generations. ¹  You established the earth and it stood firm.

From eternity I was appointed, ¹  from the beginning, from before the world existed. ²
