Praise him, O highest heaven, and you waters above the sky! ¹ 

The fountains of the deep and the floodgates of heaven were closed, ¹  and the rain stopped falling from the sky.

The heavens – indeed the highest heavens – belong to the Lord your God, as does the earth and everything in it.

The heavens and the earth ¹  were completed with everything that was in them. ² 

who teaches us ¹  more than ²  the wild animals of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of the sky?’

to the one who used wisdom to make the heavens, for his loyal love endures,

Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his loyal love endures!

“God does not really live on the earth! ¹  Look, if the sky and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this temple I have built!

All the stars in the sky will fade away, ¹  the sky will roll up like a scroll; all its stars will wither, like a leaf withers and falls from a vine or a fig withers and falls from a tree. ² 

In the beginning ¹  God ²  created ³  the heavens and the earth. ⁴ 

God placed the lights ¹  in the expanse of the sky to shine on the earth,

The Lord’s angel called to Abraham a second time from heaven

Listen, O heavens, and I will speak; hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

then listen from heaven to their prayers for help ¹  and vindicate them. ² 

Let the heavens rejoice, and the earth be happy! Let the nations say, ¹  ‘The Lord reigns!’

For ¹  it has been hidden from the eyes of every living creature, and from the birds of the sky it has been concealed.

Under the whole heaven he lets it go, even his lightning to the far corners ¹  of the earth.

He summons the heavens above, as well as the earth, so that he might judge his people. ¹ 

Let the sky rejoice, and the earth be happy! Let the sea and everything in it shout!

The sky declares his justice, and all the nations see his splendor.
