The one enthroned ¹  in heaven laughs in disgust; ²  the Lord taunts ³  them.

They speak as if they rule in heaven, and lay claim to the earth. ¹ 

He brought the east wind through the sky, and by his strength led forth the south wind.

He bends down to look ¹  at the sky and the earth.

Our God is in heaven! He does whatever he pleases! ¹ 

ל (Lamed) O Lord, your instructions endure; they stand secure in heaven. ¹ 

Even now my witness ¹  is in heaven; my advocate ²  is on high.

Whom do I have in heaven but you? I desire no one but you on earth. ¹ 

The Lord has established his throne in heaven; his kingdom extends over everything. ¹ 

A song of ascents. ²  I look up ³  toward you, the one enthroned ⁴  in heaven.

Let us lift up our hearts ¹  and our hands to God in heaven:

any kind of land animal, any bird that flies in the sky,

The Lord is in his holy temple; ¹  the Lord’s throne is in heaven. ²  His eyes ³  watch; ⁴  his eyes ⁵  examine ⁶  all people. ⁷ 

The Lord thundered ¹  in ²  the sky; the sovereign One ³  shouted. ⁴ 

He does whatever he pleases in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all the ocean depths.

He says, ¹  “Indeed, my sword has slaughtered heavenly powers. ²  Look, it now descends on Edom, ³  on the people I will annihilate in judgment.”

I will produce portents both in the sky ¹  and on the earth – blood, fire, and columns of smoke.

Then they said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens ¹  so that ²  we may make a name for ourselves. Otherwise ³  we will be scattered ⁴  across the face of the entire earth.”

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image ¹  or any likeness ²  of anything ³  that is in heaven above or that is on the earth beneath or that is in the water below. ⁴ 

Today realize and carefully consider that the Lord is God in heaven above and on earth below – there is no other!
