O Lord, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked celebrate? ¹ 

Many will be purified, made clean, and refined, but the wicked will go on being wicked. None of the wicked will understand, though the wise will understand.

Those who hate you ¹  will be clothed with shame, ²  and the tent of the wicked will be no more.”

He strikes them for their wickedness, ¹  in a place where people can see, ² 

that it might seize the corners of the earth, ¹  and shake the wicked out of it?

The little bit that a godly man owns is better than the wealth of many evil men, ¹ 

Sinful rebels are totally destroyed; ¹  evil men have no future. ² 

For I envied those who are proud, as I observed ¹  the prosperity ²  of the wicked.

Rescue the poor and needy! Deliver them from the power ¹  of the wicked!

Certainly you will see it with your very own eyes – you will see the wicked paid back. ¹ 

Fire burned their group; the flames scorched the wicked. ¹ 

The ropes of the wicked tighten around ¹  me, but I do not forget your law.

The wicked prepare to kill me, ¹  yet I concentrate on your rules.

The Lord is just; he cut the ropes of the wicked.” ¹ 

The memory ¹  of the righteous is a blessing, but the reputation ²  of the wicked will rot. ³ 

The hope ¹  of the righteous is joy, but the expectation of the wicked will remain unfulfilled. ² 

The plans ¹  of the righteous are just; the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. ² 

The wicked are overthrown ¹  and perish, ²  but the righteous household ³  will stand.

The righteous person is cautious in his friendship, ¹  but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

The light ¹  of the righteous shines brightly, ²  but the lamp ³  of the wicked goes out. ⁴
