Let them make ¹  for me a sanctuary, ²  so that I may live among them.

But ¹  the Levites, according to the tribe of their fathers, ²  were not numbered ³  among them.

When they come in, the prince will come in with them, and when they go out, he will go out.

to whom alone the land was given when no foreigner passed among them. ¹ 

When all this comes true – and it certainly will ¹  – then they will know that a prophet was among them.”

And the whole community ¹  of the Israelites and the resident foreigner who lives among them will be forgiven, since all the people were involved in the unintentional offense.

You must have one law for the person who sins unintentionally, both for the native-born among the Israelites and for the resident foreigner who lives among them.

Now Joab ¹  did not number Levi and Benjamin, for the king’s edict disgusted him.

You must expel both men and women; you must put them outside the camp, so that ¹  they will not defile their camps, among which I live.”

The Lord spoke to Aaron, “You will have no inheritance in their land, nor will you have any portion of property ¹  among them – I am your portion and your inheritance among the Israelites.

The one who gathers the ashes of the heifer must wash his clothes and be ceremonially unclean until evening. This will be a permanent ordinance both for the Israelites and the resident foreigner who lives among them.
