Therefore, prophesy against them! Prophesy, son of man!”

So everyone took his censer, put fire in it, and set incense on it, and stood at the entrance of the tent of meeting, with Moses and Aaron.

Samson said to the young man who held his hand, “Position me so I can touch the pillars that support the temple. ¹  Then I can lean on them.”

In the past I saw to it that they were uprooted and torn down, that they were destroyed and demolished. But now I will see to it that they are built up and firmly planted. ¹  I, the Lord, affirm it!” ² 

As I watched, I saw ¹  tendons on them, then muscles appeared, ²  and skin covered over them from above, but there was no breath ³  in them.

¹  And the cloud of the Lord was over them by day, when they traveled ²  from the camp.

Now before the spies ¹  went to sleep, Rahab ²  went up ³  to the roof.

Their houses are safe ¹  and without fear; ²  and no rod of punishment ³  from God is upon them. ⁴ 

Together they lie down in the dust, and worms cover over them both.

Do you know how God commands them, ¹  how he makes lightning flash in his storm cloud? ² 

Pour out your judgment ¹  on them! May your raging anger ²  overtake them!

He rained down manna for them to eat; he gave them the grain of heaven. ¹ 

He rained down meat on them like dust, birds as numerous as the sand on the seashores. ¹ 

The birds of the sky live beside them; they chirp among the bushes. ¹
