Confirm to your servant your promise, ¹  which you made to the one who honors you. ² 

This ¹  is what comforts me in my trouble, for your promise revives me. ² 

Your words are sweeter in my mouth than honey! ¹ 

Your word is absolutely pure, and your servant loves it!

You will fall; while lying on the ground ¹  you will speak; from the dust where you lie, your words will be heard. ²  Your voice will sound like a spirit speaking from the underworld; ³  from the dust you will chirp as if muttering an incantation. ⁴ 

In my heart I store up ¹  your words, ²  so I might not sin against you.

Before I was afflicted I used to stray off, ¹  but now I keep your instructions. ² 

I take note of the treacherous and despise them, because they do not keep your instructions. ¹ 

I rejoice in your instructions, like one who finds much plunder. ¹ 

May my tongue sing about your instructions, ¹  for all your commands are just.

He said to his father and mother, “I have not seen him,” ¹  and he did not acknowledge his own brothers or know his own children, for they kept your word, and guarded your covenant.

I will bow down toward your holy temple, and give thanks to your name, because of your loyal love and faithfulness, for you have exalted your promise above the entire sky. ¹
