This is the burnt offering for every Sabbath, ¹  besides the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.

The Israelites must keep the Sabbath by observing the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.

Some of the Kohathites, their relatives, were in charge of preparing the bread that is displayed each Sabbath.

“Remember ¹  the Sabbath ²  day to set it apart as holy. ³ 

You have despised my holy things and desecrated my Sabbaths!

Six days ¹  work may be done, ²  but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, ³  holy to the Lord; anyone who does work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death.

“‘You must count for yourselves seven weeks from the day after the Sabbath, from the day you bring the wave offering sheaf; they must be complete weeks. ¹ 

It is a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must humble yourselves on the ninth day of the month in the evening, from evening until evening you must observe your Sabbath.” ¹ 

Each Sabbath day ¹  Aaron ²  must arrange it before the Lord continually; this portion ³  is from the Israelites as a perpetual covenant.

but in the seventh year the land must have a Sabbath of complete rest ¹  – a Sabbath to the Lord. You must not sow your field or ²  prune your vineyard.

“‘You must count off ¹  seven weeks of years, seven times seven years, ²  and the days of the seven weeks of years will amount to forty-nine years. ³ 

“‘Then the land will make up for ¹  its Sabbaths all the days it lies desolate while you are in the land of your enemies; then the land will rest and make up its Sabbaths.

From one month ¹  to the next and from one Sabbath to the next, all people ²  will come to worship me,” ³  says the Lord.

Do not carry any loads out of your houses or do any work on the Sabbath day. ¹  But observe the Sabbath day as a day set apart to the Lord, ²  as I commanded your ancestors. ³ 

You must not kindle a fire ¹  in any of your homes ²  on the Sabbath day.” ³ 

“‘You must keep my Sabbaths and fear my sanctuary. I am the Lord.

You must keep my Sabbaths and reverence ¹  my sanctuary. I am the Lord.

When the evening shadows ¹  began to fall on the gates of Jerusalem before the Sabbath, I ordered ²  the doors to be closed. I further directed that they were not to be opened until after the Sabbath. I positioned ³  some of my young men at the gates so that no load could enter on the Sabbath day.

Moses said, “Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to the Lord; today you will not find it in the area. ¹ 

Six days you will gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.”
