The pavement was beside the gates, corresponding to the length of the gates; this was the lower pavement.

Then he brought me to the outer court. I saw ¹  chambers there, and a pavement made for the court all around; thirty chambers faced the pavement.

But then one of the seraphs flew toward me. In his hand was a hot coal he had taken from the altar with tongs.

Opposite the 35 feet ¹  that belonged to the inner court, and opposite the pavement which belonged to the outer court, gallery faced gallery in the three stories.

When all the Israelites saw the fire come down and the Lord’s splendor over the temple, they got on their knees with their faces downward toward the pavement. They worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord, saying, ¹  “Certainly he is good; certainly his loyal love endures!”

The furnishings included linen and purple curtains hung by cords of the finest linen ¹  and purple wool on silver rings, alabaster columns, gold and silver couches ²  displayed on a floor made of valuable stones of alabaster, mother-of-pearl, and mineral stone.
