Wealth adds many friends, but a poor person is separated ¹  from his friend. ² 

“You shall not covet ¹  your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor.” ² 

You must not desire ¹  another man’s ²  wife, nor should you crave his ³  house, his field, his male and female servants, his ox, his donkey, or anything else he owns.” ⁴ 

“You shall not give ¹  false testimony ²  against your neighbor.

You must not offer false testimony against another. ¹ 

“To the one in despair, kindness ¹  should come from his friend ²  even if ³  he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

My intercessor is my friend ¹  as my eyes pour out ²  tears to God;

If a man denounces his friends for personal gain, ¹  the eyes of his children will fail.

I have become a brother to jackals and a companion of ostriches. ¹ 

I ¹  will reply to you, ²  and to your friends with you.

The righteous person is cautious in his friendship, ¹  but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

The one who despises his neighbor sins, but whoever is kind to the needy is blessed.

When you go into the ripe grain fields of your neighbor you may pluck off the kernels with your hand, ¹  but you must not use a sickle on your neighbor’s ripe grain.

As they grappled with one another, each one stabbed his opponent with his sword and they fell dead together. ¹  So that place is called the Field of Flints; ²  it is in Gibeon.

Absalom said to Hushai, “Do you call this loyalty to your friend? Why didn’t you go with your friend?”

then, my child, do this in order to deliver yourself, ¹  because you have fallen into your neighbor’s power: ²  go, humble yourself, ³  and appeal firmly ⁴  to your neighbor.

Everyone must be on his guard around his friends. He must not even trust any of his relatives. ¹  For every one of them will find some way to cheat him. ²  And all of his friends will tell lies about him.

On that day there will be great confusion from the Lord among them; they will seize each other and attack one another violently.

‘Cursed is the one who moves his neighbor’s boundary marker.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’

‘Cursed is the one who kills ¹  his neighbor in private.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’
