They ¹  are dark ²  because of ice; snow is piled ³  up over them. ⁴ 

The breath of God produces ice, and the breadth of the waters freeze solid.

From whose womb does the ice emerge, and the frost from the sky, ¹  who gives birth to it,

He throws his hailstones ¹  like crumbs. Who can withstand the cold wind he sends? ² 

I was consumed by scorching heat ¹  during the day and by piercing cold ²  at night, and I went without sleep. ³ 

Over the heads of the living beings was something like a platform, ¹  glittering awesomely like ice, ²  stretched out over their heads.

So the Lord says concerning King Jehoiakim of Judah, “None of his line will occupy the throne of David. ¹  His dead body will be thrown out to be exposed to scorching heat by day and frost by night. ²
