“Now I will rise up,” says the Lord. “Now I will exalt myself; now I will magnify myself. ¹ 

But now, look, Adonijah has become king! But you, ¹  my master the king, are not even aware of it! ² 

Surely now he ¹  has worn me out, you have devastated my entire household.

“And now I have become their taunt song; I have become a byword ¹  among them.

I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye has seen you. ¹ 

So now, you kings, do what is wise; ¹  you rulers of the earth, submit to correction! ² 

Now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land. ¹ 

And now, ¹  I will break Assyria’s ²  yoke bar ³  from your neck; ⁴  I will tear apart the shackles ⁵  that are on you.” ⁶ 

“Now, you priests, this commandment is for you.

You have also established prophets to announce ¹  in Jerusalem ²  on your behalf, ‘We have a king in Judah!’ Now the king is going to hear about these rumors. So come on! Let’s talk about this.” ³ 

Now then, my son, do ¹  exactly what I tell you! ² 

You didn’t even allow me to kiss my daughters and my grandchildren ¹  good-bye. You have acted foolishly!

But if we had not delayed, we could have traveled there and back ¹  twice by now!”

So now, let the power of my Lord ¹  be great, just as you have said,

Now this is what we will do to Gibeah: We will attack the city as the lot dictates. ¹ 

David replied, “What have I done now? Can’t I say anything?” ¹ 

Jeroboam then thought to himself: ¹  “Now the Davidic dynasty could regain the kingdom. ² 

Now you say, ‘Go and say to your master, “Elijah is back.”’ ¹ 

Now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name!

For now ¹  I would be lying down and ²  would be quiet, ³  I would be asleep and then at peace ⁴
