Shelemiah, Nathan, Adaiah,

Attai was the father of Nathan, and Nathan was the father of Zabad.

Azariah son of Nathan was supervisor of ¹  the district governors. Zabud son of Nathan was a priest and adviser to ²  the king.

Joel the brother of Nathan, ¹  Mibhar son of Hagri,

Then David exclaimed to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord!” Nathan replied to David, “Yes, and the Lord has forgiven ¹  your sin. You are not going to die.

Igal son of Nathan from Zobah, Bani the Gadite,

Just then, ¹  while she was still speaking to the king, Nathan the prophet arrived.

These are the names of children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

Nathan replied to the king, “You should go ¹  and do whatever you have in mind, ²  for the Lord is with you.”

That night the Lord told Nathan, ¹ 

Nathan told David all these words that were revealed to him. ¹ 

and sent word through Nathan the prophet that he should be named Jedidiah ¹  for the Lord’s sake.

But he did not invite Nathan the prophet, Benaiah, the elite warriors, ¹  or his brother Solomon.

These are the names of children born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua, Shobab, Nathan, Solomon,

Nathan said to David, “You should do whatever you have in mind, ¹  for God is with you.”

That night God told Nathan the prophet, ¹ 

Nathan told David all these words that were revealed to him. ¹ 

The king said to Nathan the prophet, “Look! I am living in a palace made from cedar, while the ark of God sits in the middle of a tent.”

Then David became very angry at this man. He said to Nathan, “As surely as the Lord lives, the man who did this deserves to die! ¹ 

Then Nathan went to his home. The Lord struck the child that Uriah’s wife had borne to David, and the child became very ill. ¹
