So Moses made a bronze snake and put it on a pole, so that if a snake had bitten someone, when he looked at the bronze snake he lived. ¹ 

Afterward ¹  it bites like a snake, and stings like a viper.

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat ¹  of the fruit from the trees of the orchard;

The serpent said to the woman, “Surely you will not die, ¹ 

By his breath ¹  the skies became fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent. ² 

One who digs a pit may ¹  fall into it, and one who breaks through a wall may be bitten by a snake. ² 

So the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this ¹  you have done?” And the woman replied, “The serpent ²  tricked ³  me, and I ate.”

The Lord ¹  said, “Throw it to the ground.” So he threw it to the ground, and it became a snake, ²  and Moses ran from it.

Their venom is like that of a snake, ¹  like a deaf serpent ²  that does not hear, ³ 

Their tongues wound like a serpent; ¹  a viper’s ²  venom is behind ³  their lips. (Selah)

If the snake should bite before it is charmed, ¹  the snake charmer ²  is in trouble. ³ 

Egypt will run away, hissing like a snake, ¹  as the enemy comes marching up in force. They will come against her with axes as if they were woodsmen chopping down trees.

At that time ¹  the Lord will punish with his destructive, ²  great, and powerful sword Leviathan the fast-moving ³  serpent, Leviathan the squirming serpent; he will kill the sea monster. ⁴ 

May Dan be a snake beside the road, a viper by the path, that bites the heels of the horse so that its rider falls backward. ¹ 

Go to Pharaoh in the morning when ¹  he goes out to the water. Position yourself ²  to meet him by the edge of the Nile, ³  and take ⁴  in your hand the staff ⁵  that was turned into a snake.

So the Lord sent poisonous ¹  snakes ²  among the people, and they bit the people; many people of Israel died.

and who brought you through the great, fearful desert of venomous serpents ¹  and scorpions, an arid place with no water. He made water flow ²  from a flint rock and

the way ¹  of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship in the sea, and the way of a man with a woman. ² 

Don’t be so happy, all you Philistines, just because the club that beat you has been broken! ¹  For a viper will grow out of the serpent’s root, and its fruit will be a darting adder. ² 

The Lord says, ¹  “Yes indeed, ²  I am sending an enemy against you that will be like poisonous snakes which cannot be charmed away. ³  And they will inflict fatal wounds on you.” ⁴
