Their slain will be left unburied, ¹  their corpses will stink; ²  the hills will soak up their blood. ³ 

So they gathered it each morning, ¹  each person according to what he could eat, and when the sun got hot, it would melt. ² 

My strength drains away like water; ¹  all my bones are dislocated; my heart ²  is like wax; it melts away inside me.

As smoke is driven away by the wind, so you drive them away. ¹  As wax melts before fire, so the wicked are destroyed before God.

The mountains melt like wax before the Lord, before the Lord of the whole earth.

When they ask you, ‘Why are you groaning?’ you will reply, ‘Because of the report that has come. Every heart will melt with fear and every hand will be limp; everyone ¹  will faint and every knee will be wet with urine.’ ²  Pay attention – it is coming and it will happen, declares the sovereign Lord.”
