From there it spots ¹  its prey, ²  its eyes gaze intently from a distance.

They willfully challenged God ¹  by asking for food to satisfy their appetite.

They were not yet filled up, ¹  their food was still in their mouths,

The lions roar for prey, seeking their food from God. ¹ 

All of your creatures ¹  wait for you to provide them with food on a regular basis. ² 

They should gather all the excess food ¹  during these good years that are coming. By Pharaoh’s authority ²  they should store up grain so the cities will have food, ³  and they should preserve it. ⁴ 

But they exclaimed, ¹  “No, my lord! Your servants have come to buy grain for food!

They said, “My lord, we did indeed come down ¹  the first time ²  to buy food.

“Then our father said, ‘Go back and buy us a little food.’

They glide by ¹  like reed ²  boats, like an eagle that swoops ³  down on its prey. ⁴ 

Does not the ear test words, as ¹  the tongue ²  tastes food? ³ 

“Nothing is left for him to devour; ¹  that is why his prosperity does not last. ² 

It is by these that he judges ¹  the nations and supplies food in abundance.

They lost their appetite for all food, ¹  and they drew near the gates of death.

There is abundant food in the field ¹  of the poor, but it is swept away by injustice. ² 

Joseph ¹  collected all the excess food ²  in the land of Egypt during the seven years and stored it in the cities. ³  In every city he put the food gathered from the fields around it.

When ¹  they measured with an omer, the one who gathered much had nothing left over, and the one who gathered little lacked nothing; each one had gathered what he could eat.
