But if only God would speak, ¹  if only he would open his lips against you, ² 

But you, however, are inventors of lies; ¹  all of you are worthless physicians! ² 

But as ¹  a mountain falls away and crumbles, ²  and as a rock will be removed from its place,

“But now, O Job, listen to my words, and hear ¹  everything I have to say! ²

But I ¹  am full of the courage that the Lord’s Spirit gives, and have a strong commitment to justice. ²  This enables me to confront Jacob with its rebellion, and Israel with its sin. ³

Otherwise, as surely as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives – he who has prevented me from harming you – if you had not come so quickly to meet me, by morning’s light not even one male belonging to Nabal would have remained alive!”

Now the advisers ¹  of the king of Syria said to him: “Their God is a god of the mountains. That’s why they overpowered us. But if we fight them in the plains, we will certainly overpower them.
