To ¹  one he gave five talents, ²  to another two, and to another one, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

For by the standard you judge you will be judged, and the measure you use will be the measure you receive. ¹ 

Do you not know that if you present yourselves ¹  as obedient slaves, ²  you are slaves of the one you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or obedience resulting in righteousness? ³ 

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” ¹ 

Yet ¹  they were not able to resist ²  the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.

This man is staying as a guest with a man named Simon, a tanner, ¹  whose house is by the sea.”

to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be glory forever! Amen.

In whatever situation someone was called, brothers and sisters, ¹  let him remain in it with God.

to whom be glory forever and ever! Amen.

In him ¹  the whole building, ²  being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

in whom we have boldness and confident access ¹  to God ²  because of ³  Christ’s ⁴  faithfulness. ⁵ 

And do not get drunk with wine, which ¹  is debauchery, ²  but be filled by the Spirit, ³ 

in whom we have redemption, ¹  the forgiveness of sins.

in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

For since he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

By his will ¹  we have been made holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

This brings you great joy, ¹  although you may have to suffer ²  for a short time in various trials.

In it ¹  he went and preached to the spirits in prison, ² 

But the one who did not know his master’s will ¹  and did things worthy of punishment ²  will receive a light beating. ³  From everyone who has been given much, much will be required, ⁴  and from the one who has been entrusted with much, ⁵  even more will be asked. ⁶
