But ¹  he looked around to see who had done it.

Instead, does a Christian sue a Christian, ¹  and do this before unbelievers?

But you yourselves wrong and cheat, and you do this to your brothers and sisters! ¹ 

I say this as a concession, not as a command.

And this is what we intend to do, ¹  if God permits.

Because they had heard that Jesus ¹  had performed this miraculous sign, the crowd went out to meet him.

For this reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities ¹  are God’s servants devoted to governing. ² 

For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.

Therefore let those of us who are “perfect” embrace this point of view. ¹  If you think otherwise, God will reveal to you the error of your ways. ² 

At times you were publicly exposed to abuse and afflictions, and at other times you came to share with others who were treated in that way.

(Now Jesus ¹  said this to indicate clearly by what kind of death Peter ²  was going to glorify God.) ³  After he said this, Jesus told Peter, ⁴  “Follow me.”

For I don’t understand what I am doing. For I do not do what I want – instead, I do what I hate. ¹ 

and after he had given thanks he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”

This ¹  took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet: ² 

It ¹  could have been sold at a high price and the money ²  given to the poor!”

And who am I ¹  that the mother of my Lord should come and visit me?

This ¹  will be a sign ²  for you: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger.” ³ 

Herod added this to them all: He locked up John in prison.

When ¹  they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear. ² 

But he forcefully commanded ¹  them not to tell this to anyone, ²
