Little children, guard yourselves from idols. ¹ 

My children – I am again undergoing birth pains until Christ is formed in you! ¹ 

I am writing to you, ¹  little children, that ²  your sins have been forgiven because of his ³  name.

Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue but in deed and truth. ¹ 

Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness ¹  is righteous, just as Jesus ²  is righteous.

(My little children, ¹  I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. ² ) But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate ³  with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous One, ⁴ 

And now, little children, remain ¹  in him, ²  so that when ³  he appears we may have confidence and not shrink away from him in shame when he comes back. ⁴ 

You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, ¹  because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

Children, I am still with you for a little while. You will look for me, ¹  and just as I said to the Jewish religious leaders, ²  ‘Where I am going you cannot come,’ ³  now I tell you the same. ⁴
