But evil people and charlatans will go from bad to worse, ¹  deceiving others and being deceived themselves. ² 

For you were going astray like sheep ¹  but now you have turned back to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.

For we too were once foolish, disobedient, misled, enslaved to various passions and desires, spending our lives in evil and envy, hateful and hating one another.

(the world was not worthy of them); they wandered in deserts and mountains and caves and openings in the earth.
