He appointed twelve: ¹  To Simon ²  he gave the name Peter;

Jesus ¹  asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “My name is Legion, ²  for we are many.”

to a virgin engaged ¹  to a man whose name was Joseph, a descendant of David, ²  and the virgin’s name was Mary.

As a result God exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name,

Whoever receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. Whoever ¹  receives a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive a righteous person’s reward.

They have as king over them the angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon. ¹ 

because he who is mighty ¹  has done great things for me, and holy is his name;

You will be hated by everyone because of my name. ¹ 

A man came, sent from God, whose name was John. ¹ 

Now a certain man, a Pharisee ¹  named Nicodemus, who was a member of the Jewish ruling council, ² 

And then ¹  everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ ² 

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus,

For just as it is written, “the name of God is being blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.” ¹ 

For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. ¹ 

so that no one can say that you were baptized in my name!

Thus he became ¹  so far better than the angels as ²  he has inherited a name superior to theirs.

Do they not blaspheme the good name of the one you belong to? ¹ 

I am writing to you, ¹  little children, that ²  your sins have been forgiven because of his ³  name.

I am also aware ¹  that you have persisted steadfastly, ²  endured much for the sake of my name, and have not grown weary.

and they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
