“But your eyes are blessed ¹  because they see, and your ears because they hear.

They said to him, “Lord, let our eyes be opened.”

For my eyes have seen your salvation ¹ 

(but their eyes were kept ¹  from recognizing ²  him). ³ 

So they asked him, ¹  “How then were you made to see?” ² 

And their eyes were opened. Then Jesus sternly warned them, “See that no one knows about this.”

He came again and found them sleeping; they could not keep their eyes open. ¹ 

Then ¹  Jesus ²  turned ³  to his ⁴  disciples and said privately, “Blessed ⁵  are the eyes that see what you see!

At this point ¹  their eyes were opened and they recognized ²  him. ³  Then ⁴  he vanished out of their sight.

let their eyes be darkened so that they may not see, and make their backs bend continually.” ¹ 

For the eyes of the Lord are ¹  upon the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer. But the Lord’s face is against those who do evil. ² 

When he came again he found them sleeping; they could not keep their eyes open. ¹  And they did not know what to tell him.

Then ¹  he rolled up ²  the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on ³  him.

His ¹  head and hair were as white as wool, even as white as snow, ²  and his eyes were like a fiery ³  flame.

His eyes are like a fiery ¹  flame and there are many diadem crowns ²  on his head. He has ³  a name written ⁴  that no one knows except himself.
