for they heard them speaking in tongues and praising ¹  God. Then Peter said,

While they were saying these things, Jesus ¹  himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.” ² 

both Jews and proselytes, ¹  Cretans and Arabs – we hear them speaking in our own languages about the great deeds God has done!” ² 

When this sound ¹  occurred, a crowd gathered and was in confusion, ²  because each one heard them speaking in his own language.

While Peter and John ¹  were speaking to the people, the priests and the commander ²  of the temple guard ³  and the Sadducees ⁴  came up ⁵  to them,
