They do not belong to the world ¹  just as I do not belong to the world. ² 

Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world ¹  will be driven out. ² 

They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world’s perspective and the world listens to them.

If you belonged to the world, ¹  the world would love you as its own. ²  However, because you do not belong to the world, ³  but I chose you out of the world, for this reason ⁴  the world hates you. ⁵ 

In no way did I mean the immoral people of this world, or the greedy and swindlers and idolaters, since you would then have to go out of the world.

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” ¹ 

and concerning judgment, ¹  because ²  the ruler of this world ³  has been condemned. ⁴ 

when people lie about us, we answer in a friendly manner. We are the world’s dirt and scum, even now.

But a married man is concerned about the things of the world, how to please his wife,

He was foreknown ¹  before the foundation of the world but ²  was manifested in these last times ³  for your sake.

Jesus replied, ¹  “You people ²  are from below; I am from above. You people are from this world; I am not from this world.

I have given them your word, ¹  and the world has hated them, because they do not belong to the world, ²  just as I do not belong to the world. ³ 

But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong.

Adulterers, do you not know that friendship with the world means hostility toward God? ¹  So whoever decides to be the world’s friend makes himself God’s enemy.

You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden.

so that this generation may be held accountable ¹  for the blood of all the prophets that has been shed since the beginning ²  of the world, ³ 

For all the nations of the world pursue ¹  these things, and your Father knows that you need them.

I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but that you keep them safe ¹  from the evil one. ² 

Now if their transgression means riches for the world and their defeat means riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their full restoration ¹  bring?

For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
