just as it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one,

for it is written, “You shall be holy, because I am holy.” ¹ 

for it is written, ‘He will command his angels concerning you, to protect you,’ ¹ 

He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you understand it?” ¹ 

The ¹  words of the prophets agree ²  with this, as it is written,

For just as it is written, “the name of God is being blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.” ¹ 

just as it is written: “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” ¹ 

so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.” ¹ 

“In Bethlehem of Judea,” they said, “for it is written this way by the prophet:

Jesus said to him, “Once again it is written: ‘You are not to put the Lord your God to the test.’” ¹ 

But I tell you that Elijah has certainly come, and they did to him whatever they wanted, just as it is written about him.”

(just as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every firstborn male ¹  will be set apart to the Lord” ² ),

Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘Man ¹  does not live by bread alone.’” ² 

and said to them, “Thus it stands written that the Christ ¹  would suffer ²  and would rise from the dead on the third day,

It is written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. ¹ 

that this promise ¹  God has fulfilled to us, their children, by raising ²  Jesus, as also it is written in the second psalm, ‘You are my Son; ³  today I have fathered you.’ ⁴ 

As it is written, “For your sake we encounter death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” ¹ 

And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How timely ¹  is the arrival ²  of those who proclaim the good news.” ³ 

but as it is written: “Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.” ¹ 

For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will thwart the cleverness of the intelligent.” ¹
