Blessed is that slave whom the master finds at work ¹  when he comes.

Blessed is that slave ¹  whom his master finds at work ²  when he returns.

Whoever finds his life ¹  will lose it, ²  and whoever loses his life because of me ³  will find it.

For whoever wants to save his life ¹  will lose it, ²  but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

I am the door. If anyone enters through me, he will be saved, and will come in and go out, ¹  and find pasture. ² 

After noticing in the distance a fig tree with leaves, he went to see if he could find any fruit ¹  on it. When he came to it he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.

Blessed are those slaves ¹  whom their master finds alert ²  when he returns! I tell you the truth, ³  he will dress himself to serve, ⁴  have them take their place at the table, ⁵  and will come ⁶  and wait on them! ⁷ 

I tell you, he will give them justice speedily. ¹  Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith ²  on earth?”
