When he learned of this, ¹  Jesus said to them, “Why are you arguing ²  about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Have your hearts been hardened?

For you will always have the poor with you, and you can do good for them whenever you want. But you will not always have me! ¹ 

Pilate said to them, “Take ¹  a guard of soldiers. Go and make it as secure as you can.”

And he said to them, “Why are you cowardly? Do you still not have faith?”

He asked them, “How many loaves do you have?” They replied, “Seven.”

Jesus said to them, “Have faith in God.

but I know you, that you do not have the love of God ¹  within you.

So welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor people like him,

Now on the topic of times and seasons, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  you have no need for anything to be written to you.

Nevertheless you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you all know. ¹ 

However, hold on to what you have until I come.

You desire and you do not have; you murder and envy and you cannot obtain; you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask;

Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They replied, “Seven – and a few small fish.”

When Jesus learned of this, ¹  he said, “You who have such little faith! ²  Why are you arguing ³  among yourselves about having no bread?

And while they still could not believe it ¹  (because of their joy) and were amazed, ²  he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” ³ 

So Jesus said to them, “Children, you don’t have any fish, ¹  do you?” ²  They replied, ³  “No.”

Be imitators of me, ¹  brothers and sisters, ²  and watch carefully those who are living this way, just as you have us as an example.

since ¹  we heard about your faith in Christ Jesus and the love that you have for all the saints.
