“It was said, ‘Whoever divorces his wife must give her a legal document.’ ¹ 

But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release ¹  Barabbas instead.

So ¹  he told them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.

Immediately Jesus ¹  made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he dispersed the crowds.

Now I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another commits adultery.”
