They went back and told the rest, but they did not believe them.

John’s ¹  disciples informed him about all these things. So ²  John called ³  two of his disciples

Those ¹  who had seen it told them how the man who had been demon-possessed had been healed. ² 

They ¹  told him, “Jesus the Nazarene is passing by.”

The ¹  herdsmen ran off, went into the town, ²  and told everything that had happened to the demon-possessed men.

and when they returned from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven ¹  and to all the rest.

But the officers ¹  who came for them ²  did not find them in the prison, so they returned and reported, ³ 

The police officers reported these words to the magistrates. They were frightened when they heard Paul and Silas ¹  were Roman citizens ² 

Then John’s ¹  disciples came and took the body and buried it and went and told Jesus.

While ¹  they were going, some ²  of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests everything that had happened.

Now ¹  the herdsmen ran off and spread the news in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened.

Then ¹  the apostles gathered around Jesus and told him everything they had done and taught.

When ¹  the herdsmen saw what had happened, they ran off and spread the news ²  in the town ³  and countryside.

After ¹  the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. So ²  they kept silent and told no one ³  at that time ⁴  anything of what they had seen.

When they were released, Peter and John ¹  went to their fellow believers ²  and reported everything the high priests and the elders had said to them.
